Imperial Property specialises in developing landmark city centre locations, with a view to enhancing their environment in the long term. Current projects in the hotel, residential, serviced apartment, office and retail sectors are valued at more than £350 million.

The team is led by Imperial Property's co-founders Nick Sutton, a former 'Young Property Person of the Year', and Ayse Sutton who is responsible for interior designs. The current portfolio reflects Imperial Property’s origins in terms of serviced apartments, city centres that the team has come to know intimately and, above all, beautiful buildings in prime locations.

A number of 'signature features' characterise Imperial Property developments:

  • Typically, they will involve a listed building that has been neglected and they will always be very well situated in a city centre. Current projects lie adjacent to locations such as the St David’s Centre in Cardiff and the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.
  • Buildings will either be returned to the use for which they were originally designed - as with two current hotel projects in Brighton – or they will be redeveloped sympathetically for an appropriate contemporary use.
  • Once a property or site has been acquired, Imperial Property will complete every element of the project. As well as going on to manage schemes such as hotels and serviced apartments, the company will often retain ownership of some or all of the properties in a development.
  • Sites are often obtained without the benefit of planning permission. The company then works closely with all parties to ensure a mixed use environment that will last and prosper for many generations to come.
